Refund policy

When you are refunded, how much you get back, and how long it takes to reach your account.

Last updated

Draft. This document is still being reviewed and is not yet in force. Bracketed details, such as the company's registered name, are still to be filled in.

01When you get a refund

  • You cancel a booking, under our Cancellation policy.
  • The bus operator, airline or hotel cancels your trip.
  • A payment goes through but we can't complete the booking, for example because the last seat was taken at the same moment.
  • You are charged more than once for the same booking.

02How much you get back

Cancel 24 hours or more before travel, 100% back; less than 24 hours before travel, 50% back. Once travel has started the booking can't be refunded.

The refund is worked out on everything you paid, including tax and the ₹49 convenience fee. When a trip is cancelled by the provider, or a booking couldn't be completed, you get 100% back.

03Refunds you don't need to ask for

If we take a payment but can't complete the booking, we refund it in full straight away and the checkout page tells you so. You don't need to contact us.

04Where the money goes

Refunds go back to the card, UPI account or bank account you paid with. For your security we can't send a refund to a different account, or pay it in cash.

05How long it takes

We start the refund as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. Your bank then needs time to show it:

  • UPI: usually within [1–3] working days.
  • Cards and net banking: usually within [5–7] working days.

Weekends and bank holidays can add a day or two.

06Tracking a refund

Every cancelled booking in My bookings shows the refund amount and its status. If the status says the refund is complete but you can't see it, your bank can trace it using the amount and date.

07If something looks wrong

Write to support@tripthrillers.com with your booking reference, or use the contact form. We reply within 24 hours.
